Memo: watch ABC1 tomorrow at 8:30~ish for Benedict Cumberbatch, even if his role is rather teensy in Small Island.

Miscellaneous thought -- at some point during the Harry Potter film, Harry was wearing a shirt of a particular shade of purple that reminded me strongly of the one that Sherlock is so fond of, and now I want to know what brand shirt Harry was wearing (and, if the last movie was anything to judge by, Warner Bros is not above using product placement, so it's probably some brand).

:/

This song is absolutely gorgeous.

I should stop procrastinating.

1) It's like a diluted and less crass version of Good News Week. And English.
2) ...this show has been airing for a good two decades, and yet they've still yet to scrounge enough money together for an autocue.

I think the best part of this ad is the part where Sherlock pops up like a loony jack-in-the-box. That juxtaposed against the music, and I can't stop laughing.

But jc, that is a terrible ad. All the gorgeous cinematography, and this is the best they could come up with? (and for gods sake, I can't believe they cut just before the 'you should be' line, that line makes the scene worthwhile)

ETA: another Sherlock ad just aired on TV. WHO THE HELL CHOOSES THE BACKGROUND MUSIC, YOU ALL SUCK.

And on a similar tangent: DEAR SOUND EDITORS ON TODAY TONIGHT. YES, I REALISE THE SHOW IS A PITIFUL INFOMERCIAL AT THE BEST OF TIMES, THAT'S WHY YOU LOT EXIST TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DUMBASS VIEWERS ACTUALLY GET ~*~PULLED~*~ IN AND ARE GIVEN THE IMPRESSION YOUR SILLY, INSIPID LITTLE SHOW IS WORTH WATCHING.

THEY HOWEVER CANNOT DO THAT IF THE BACKGROUND MUSIC YOU HAVE CHOSEN DOESN'T SUIT THE BLOODY MOOD. DRAMA =/= TIME FOR SCI-FI MUSIC.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO BRAINWASH THE IDIOTS OF AUSTRALIA, DO IT PROPERLY.

1) Inception fandom adores the word 'sartorial' like no tomorrow.

2) From wikipedia: In Japanese, one word for suit is "sebiro" (背広), purportedly a corruption of "Savile Row." That is amazing.

3) I looked out of the window at some point today and went 'asdfas that building is not meant to be that colour.' Then I realised that it was just tinged the colour of a sunset. And that I had quite possibly spent too much time under artificial lights today.

tl;dr I need to infect the world with CHEKA and the Ohkrana

Longer, but more sensical story: in my history revolutions class, my teacher made a passing comment about how the CHEKA were like the Okhrana, but more lethal.

And because my brain likes to operate in ways even I have yet to comprehend, my train of thought went thusly:

lethal -> death -> disease -> Pandemic

Sadly I'm having difficulty trying to decide how exactly I want the specifics of the stats for the my lovely little diseases.

specifics under the cutCollapse )
